Me at Yellowstone National Park in Summer 2011.

About me:
I grew up in Mechanicsville, Virginia and graduated from Lee-Davis High School in 2008 as valedictorian. I completed my BS in biology at the College of William & Mary in 2012. I became interested in teaching during my sophomore year when I took part in a summer internship with Teachers for Competitive Tomorrow where I was placed at the Science Museum of Virginia. I loved working with children and getting them excited about science. I decided to pursue a career in teaching and my goal is to teach high school biology. I am currently at the William & Mary School of Education completing my Masters in Education, with a specialty in Secondary Science and will be graduating in 2013.

I am currently student teaching in New Kent, Virginia. I am working at the high school with one section of Collaborative Biology and two sections of General Biology. In Fall 2012, I also had the opportunity to participate in a secondary practicum in high needs schools where I visited and observed elementary, middle, and high schools in Hopewell, Virginia.
